I should express my profound gratitude to God for instructing our sister, Gloria Udoh (Gloryyah), to write this book, ” Worshipping in Pain”. Also, I must acknowledge the sincerity and openness that she has demonstrated in this work.
This is a very important subject that has been treated in this book with erudition, thoughtfulness, and exegesis of the scriptures.
No superstition or religious and lifeless dogma, but life-giving truths.
God and not man has been shown to be the focus of worship, the object of worship, the purpose of worship, and the inspiration of worship.
What a theme! Worshipping in Pain!
Pain and suffering is a reality we don’t like to talk about, and all pray against it, yet it is a reality that we are confronted with in our sojourn here on earth.
Why is this so? Why do the righteous suffer just like the wicked?
Does life’s pains and vicissitudes have any divine purpose and benefit? Some of these are answered in this work.
Thanks, Gloria, for the courage to speak and speak the Lord’s truth loudly.
God bless you, and may God’s light shine into the hearts of people as they read this book.
May the eyes of those who have judged God as unfair be opened to see that it is God who is fair and mankind that is unfair.
May it restore those who are angry with God back to true worship.
Amen.

We cannot escape sorrow, trials, or tribulations. Even if we are in denial, our role model, Jesus, and other saints promised this would happen.
Gloryyah helps us understand how to navigate seasons of pain and loss and still remain submitted and surrendered to Jesus, our only Succor, Comfort and Joy.
I believe this is a must-read for every true disciple of Christ.

I’ve received several requests to write Forewords for other Authors since writing my first book in 2020. This was the first time I said, yes.
After hearing Gloria’s answer to why she was asking me, I was very interested in reading her manuscript. Then, after reading her work, it was an enthusiastic, yes.
This is one of those books that you refer back to over and over again. I walked away with a deeper appreciation for the teachings on worship through the Scriptures.
If you want to understand what worship as a lifestyle looks like, get this book.
If you want to know how to worship when you’re going through a tough time in life, get this book.
Thank you, Gloria Udoh (Gloryyah), for a beautiful gift to the world.

The underlying theme in Gloryyah’s book, ‘Worshipping in Pain’, is that true worship must be a way of life – a lifestyle, not just a show we put up in church or when it is convenient.
She takes the reader methodically with clear, concise, simple words, examples, and references from the Bible, through this path of enlightenment by defining what true worship means and shows why Christians are not immune from circumstances that may cause them pain.
Pain inevitably comes our way. We are often marooned on our own islands of hurt, confusion, and pain. Locked up by speechless grief, dark days of terminal illness, or an abrupt rude end to a relationship that promised so much.
Whatever the source of our pain, Gloryyah shows that it is only by true worship of God that we find a panacea for pain and that this paradoxical path to freedom is only if we allow ourselves to be imprisoned by the unshakeable knowledge of Jesus’ redemptive love and power.
‘Worshipping in Pain’ is highly recommended to be read by anyone who hungers for a deeper walk with God in true worship and service.
